That’s not the point, nor is dumping him for whatever theocratic nutcase they have waiting in line (who, dollars to doughnuts, all have similar stories to tell, as do the “honorable” “gentlemen” in the committee).
The point is to confirm him because he’s guilty, just to show that they can.
