This is largely why I don’t consider Centrist liberals to be “allies”. I see them the same way they see me, as political opponents that need defeating.

Never Stop Posting 
“Fire and Fury” makes this point in passing. It puts across the Trump admin point of view that the media are being unfair by treating him as categorically different to previous Presidents. He’s deeply upset that they won’t give him the adulation they showed Reagan.
