The problem is when conservative leaders give permission to these people to vent you start seeing things like One Nation and Reclaim Australia rallies. The attitude of the country’s leaders has a big effect on how many racial incidents and vandalism happen. If racists are reduced to dog-whistling instead of speaking plainly, it’s still better situation in my opinion and demonstrably less violent as well.

And that’s exactly what people had been doing in between Pauline Hanson’s elections. Assuming that we don’t have a problem, when in fact it is festering hidden, like a cancer.
Uncovering it smacks us out of our complacence. The question is, will we try and cover it and deny it again, or will we examine it, try and find a way to reduce it again, and perhaps not be so complacent afterwards?
They are. Their irrational fear is the cause of their racism.
