If this was done by southern separatists hitting the Thais in the money maker this is going to be a blood bath. The whole tourist region of Southern Thailand is ethnic Malay and Muslim.
Hua Hin is a bit far north for southern Thailand separatists, isn’t it? You would expect to see something like this in Yala, Narathiwat, Songkhla, or Pattani but not this far up north.
Yes it is fairly far north. This area has direct connections with the royal family so it may be part of the red vs yellow shirts. I guess we’ll know soon.

Poor Thailand! First the new constitution entrenching military influence over civilian politics, and now, this.
I hope the southern insurgency doesn’t break out into a full civil war.
