Looks really good. I’m so impressed at how far Joseph Gordon-Levitt has come since Third Rock (which was a great show, but he didn’t really get to do much on it).
This got me wondering about the bandwidth of an actual stock Rubik’s cube, as in using the state of the faces to store data. Turns out it’s not huge. According to Wikipedia there are 43 quintillion states — which yields a theoretical max of 66 bits.
Stored in a way that is extremely slow and difficult to read and write from. I’m not sure if that 43 quintillion number accounts for the orientation of faces or not — if it doesn’t then you’d have to draw arrows on all the faces to even get a meager 66 bits into the thing.
So I will from this point on pretty accurately estimate the bandwidth of a Rubik’s cube, I guess.

I suppose that with some clever code words 66 bits is enough to convey quite a lot of information, though. Useful for spycraft? Maybe.

I will only watch this film if Snowden condones the movie otherwise it usual old Hollywood / government spin…to discredit him…
