How is crying over a summit with North Korea in any way “progressive”? Progressives have been carrying water for America’s empire for so long they have no idea that they are completely on the wrong side of this and many other issues globally.

Social democracy aka “liberalism” is failing everywhere, even in (Northern) continental Europe. The only difference is the relative speed of the decline.
The disappearance of the middle class in the USA and increasingly the UK and the rise of the “precariat” as the value of human labour is debased and class-based bargaining power gets continually eroded, is a phenomenon that will grow more common across all Western democracies.
The reasons for this are structural rather than political. While various conservative administrations will hasten the decline, this new normal will be delivered over the long term by governments of every political stripe.

They say the UK resembles the US more than any European state. I don’t think that’s a compliment anymore.
Ah, well. The Tory government. This is all going according to plan.
Which is why you should NEVER cut taxes on the wealthy. It’s always a bad idea and never produces more demand for labour. The only way to do that is to withhold supply.
