You really, truly, honestly don’t need a Virtual DOM. Srsly.
This is an interesting discussion from last year about Tagged Template String Literals (TTSL? I’m coining it right here) versus Virtual DOM systems (React, Vuejs etc).
While the focus of the discussion is on the (then recent) lit-html announcement, Andrea Giammarchi’s hyperHtml is also given the prominence it deserves. Andrea, an independent developer, invented the technique and released his library 6 months earlier than Google.

The number one good thing that React brought to front end development was the pure render function. Pure functions can be composed out of other pure functions and this gives us a more powerful way to reuse existing code.
“Google confirmed that the service only applies to people who are logged in to one of its accounts and have not opted out of ad tracking.”

An online poll suggested that more than 80% of Europeans were against the biannual ritual of adjusting clocks forward by one hour in the spring and then back an hour in the autumn, an established practice across most of Europe and North America.

The statue of liberty is literally standing on the chains of freed slaves.
Orphanages are evil everywhere.
So dont expect them to be any better in the Third World.
Don’t donate to orphanages. Don’t give money to start them either.
