Although Kyle has written extensively about the front end, especially in his You Don’t Know JS series and his excellent Functional-Lite JavaScript, this talk is relevant to all systems that use asynchronicity and that means pretty much all systems.
Asynchronous systems need cancellation and cancellation should be understood as system state rather than just an event that sometimes happens.
