Really distinguished scientists have been talking about climate change being an extinction-triggering event for humanity (and even life itself) for some time now.

Because once the buffer provided by the oceans is full (and it is near capacity) we no longer ave the regulatory feedback mechanism that is currently slowing the effects. and other factors will start making the situation worse.

It really is unknown territory but the models all look pretty bad. You won;t be able to escape the effects of climate change, no matter how much money you actually manage to make.
