I have no problem using the flag pattern in any way or form one finds compelling. But when one uses the rhetoric of wrapping oneself in the flag… when one uses archaic modes of behavior towards flags, anthems, and such symbology as validation to deny others’ true rights… then best not demonstrate hypocrisy by violating those same codes as some kind of virtue signal.

I think in nature these markings would be a warning to others organisms. Noxious or poisonous beast, that kind of thing.
