Shannon Roy we climbed it trying to not have any expectations, but the anticipation of disappointment was too much. It turned out to be not that disappointing after all.
The story of Mt Disappointment was that Hume and Hovell were sent as surveyors, from the north to, I think map out the terrain of southern NSW (not sure if Victoria was called Victoria back then). According to their reckoning, if they climbed that peak they should be able to see Port Philip bay. Well they did climb it, but no they couldn’t see Port Philip bay from there. Hence the name.
Bride of Christ. Look it up.

Oh please, Pennsylvania has tons of names like that:
Both Mount Pleasant & Pleasant Mount
Mount Joy
Fertility
Bird-in-Hand
Intercourse
Blue Ball
Big Beaver
Virginville
Rough and Ready
Two Lick Valley
and the list goes on
And they even get religious. I was born in Bethlehem and now I like in Nazareth.
But I’m sure most places in the world have odd names around them.
